About the Program

The DEA and Discovery Education have joined forces to combat a growing epidemic of prescription opioid misuse and heroin use nationwide. Operation Prevention's mission is to educate students about the true impacts of opioids and kick-start lifesaving conversations in the home and classroom.

Virtual Field Trip

Students will visit Huntington, West Virginia- a typical American community that has been greatly impacted by the opioid epidemic- to hear the powerful personal stories from the bravest teens and change makers in the city in this live event on Oct. 25. Students will learn how opioids have affected their lives, how they are using their experiences to improve the city, and ways your students could make a positive impact on their own communities.
